27 days to go . . . .

Here we are, 27 days ago. I checked my current kit list last night for the items I've got.

According to my spreadsheet I've got 57 of the items I need, but I've still to get 31 Unfortunately, the list is growing too!! Last night, I added memory cards for my camera, a sewing kit and a memory card holder. Hopefully, lunchtime today I will be able to pickup an alarm clock and batteries.

Still no news on what job I'm doing. I also haven't heard if anyone else knows what they are doing.

Tonight, I'm on call, so can't go anywhere to get stuff for the Kit list, however, more lists needed. Need to create shopping list for Pathfinder and hopefully will hear from JC confirming the disco arrangements.

4 weeks to go and counting . . .

Interestingly (or not), today is 4 weeks until we arrive on site and it's also a month from the start of the Jamboree.

I hope from now on to give a quick day by day account of what I'm up to.  Between now and then, there's The Pathfinder Weekend and District Camp, plenty of work to be done at work and lots of getting ready for the Jamboree. I hoped to find out what I'm doing, by the end of the week, as we were originally told we would know by the end of June. However, it seems to have changed now. The information we've got says we should know by early July, but some people might not know until they get to site.

Preparations for getting together all my kit is going well. I have got about 3/4 of the suggested kit list together, but Sir Lod and I need to sit down and work out if there is anything more we need to take. Junior is still working on whether she is coming along in the car with us.

The weather is finally looking better. But don't speak too soon. It might even be dry for the weekend!!! ;-)

So tonight, go home, possibly watch some 24 and speak to Mr Wedge (the nice 298th Group Scout Leader) about the use of their minibus for Pathfinder and the possibly early to bed.

Speak soon,

(well, hopefully tomorrow)

Hmmm, Kit Lists, Jobs and 5 weeks to go . . . .

It seems that, now we are into the final few weeks to the Jamboree, everyone is talking about kit lists (see Lod Blog!!).

So to be one of the sheep and go with the crowd, kit lists. . . .

Looking at the Jamboree site, there is a huge kit list on there. I hadn't really thought about it, but there is a mountain of stuuf that I need to take with me!! Luckily I bought  mountain of stuff from the Options catelogue. It's getting quite scary, I've even started writting lists!!!

So, 5 weeks today, I'll have been in Essex for 3 days (thanks to Auntie and Uncle B), and been on site for 2 days. 5 weeks today is the day when everyone else arrives on site. By now, my battery will be getting low on my phone and well have some idea if this blog thing is going to work!!! ;-)

As for what job I'm doing, we are going to be informed of this by the end of the month. So far I've only heard of one person who knows what they are doing. They are doing somekinda first aid on site. This person, is actually a friend of a friend. Assuming we hear by the end of the month, that gives us just over a week. Then I'll find out which toilet I'm gonna be cleaning!!!

Before the jamboree, there's Bag Packing, Pathfinder and District Camp amongst other things.

Atleast I've got my 120 litre bag!!

Sickness :-(

Hi all,

So, after a little delay, I'm back on my blog, sending emails in.

As I write, there are now only 35 days to go to WSJ 21!!!

So, to catch up recently, Steph and I were asked to see what one of the Birmingham Unit's were doing to put on their 'Hub'. Their unit, 007, has put together a fantastic show. Nicely done to them. I'm not going to tell you what they've done, I'll leave it as a supprise.

As for the last bank holiday weekend, as predicted, it was wet!!! Just see the surface water that was left!!

Coming up before the WSJ, I've got Pathfinder and District Camp. Hope to have pics from those!!

Anyway, catch you all soon,
